Mothers Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, especially all the Moms out there! I have said it for three years in a row now, but I am especially grateful for my Mother now that I am a mother myself. There are soooo many things that I learned from her that I didn't know where AWESOME until now πŸ˜‰.

My mom is definitely one in a million. Never met anyone else quite like her! She is a force of nature and when someone tries to hurt her babies, well.... You just better go find a goooood hiding spot! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

She is totally crazy about her kids and now grandkids! And what I used to think was FOR REAL crazy, now completely makes sense to me. My younger brother and I are 17 years apart, and as much as I adore him I get really aggravated at how he will respond to my mom sometimes. He thinks she's "over the top, over protective, and all up in his business, LOL" all things I know I once felt at some point! But now that I have these two little men in my life, it's as if my hearts walks around ALLLLL by itself on the road and I am just looking at it from behind praying someone doesn't step on it and crush it!!! 😳 I want to do everything in my power to keep my kids safe and protected from this crazy life, but I know there is a method to doing that appropriately. I don't want to do my boys a disservice for when they are in challenging situations, or make them scared to trust and to love people just because I KNOW that at some point someone will betray them or break their heart. 😩 I don't want them to live in fear of bad things happening, but live with confidence that God is with them wherever they go... even in the darkest times.  Even just writing those words brings tears to my eyes! I wish I could take any future hurt they may experience, but I can't. So, it's my job to teach them that no matter what life throws at them, they were meant for something SO MUCH BIGGER! Gods plans for them are so good and I am so anxious to see them all unfold.

That is something my mom always encouraged me to see. Your present circumstances don't define your future outcome! Whhooooo whhooooo Praise God for that! πŸ™Œ

My mom never took being a mother lightly. She truly considered it HER JOB 100% of the time. She was always honest with me, even when she made mistakes so that it would encourage me to do better. She gave it her very best trying to protect me from any unnecessary heart ache, (which was NOT always easy) But then she was always there for me to help me navigate hurt when it couldn't be avoided. In my mind my mom has always been one of the strongest and toughest people I know! I am pretty certain that image is in effort to protect me too, and I am grateful!!

Andy Stanley once said," Your greatest contribution to the Kingdom of God may not be something you do, but someone you raise!" My Mom has done a lot of good things worthy of recognition, but I think her greatest attribute by far is being a Mother who truly gave "mothering" her very best! I pray with all my heart that this can be true for me! I consider it such a privilege to get the opportunity to raise God fearing men that will pour life into people who need to see God's goodness!
